Chocolate Pancake

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix as this can result in tough pancakes.
  4. If you’re using chocolate chips, fold them into the batter.
  5. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat. Once hot, add a small amount of oil or butter to the pan.
  6. Use a 1/4 cup measure to scoop the batter onto the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the edges start to dry and the top is covered with bubbles.
  7. Flip the pancake and cook for another 1-2 minutes or until cooked through.
  8. Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more oil or butter to the pan as needed.
  9. Serve hot with your choice of toppings such as whipped cream, chocolate syrup, or fresh fruit.

Enjoy your delicious chocolate pancakes!
