Steak Fajitas

Steak fajitas are a flavorful Tex-Mex dish that consist of grilled steak, onions, and bell peppers, served in a warm tortilla with toppings like guacamole, salsa, and cheese. Here’s a recipe for making Steak Fajitas at home:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb flank steak, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 bell peppers, sliced into thin strips
  • 1 onion, sliced into thin strips
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Flour tortillas, warmed, for serving
  • Toppings, such as shredded cheese, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream, as desired

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Preheat a grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
  3. Brush the steak strips with a little bit of oil, and sprinkle the spice mixture over the steak, rubbing it in to coat.
  4. Grill the steak for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove from the grill and let rest for 5 minutes.
  5. In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced bell peppers and onion to the skillet and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened.
  6. Add the cooked steak to the skillet with the vegetables and stir to combine.
  7. Serve the steak fajita mixture in warm flour tortillas, along with your favorite toppings.
